“Our team was appreciative to have the opportunity to tour the Food Bank, pack boxes, and play a part in the fight against food insecurities in our community. “The work that the Northwest Indiana Food Bank does throughout our communities is vitally important, and Horseshoe Hammond is excited to help support the Senior Pantry Pack Initiative,” said Noah Hirsch, Horseshoe Hammond Casino Vice President and Assistant General Manager. In addition to volunteering, the Horseshoe Hammond team also donated $20,000 to further support the organization’s philanthropic efforts. In Northwest Indiana, nearly 100,000 individuals are food insecure, meaning they lack access to nutritious foods for themselves and their families. A total of 20 volunteers from the Horseshoe Hammond team assisted in the initiative. Horseshoe Hammond partnered with the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana to sort and pack 192 boxes of perishable foods for seniors in need as part of the Senior Pantry Pack Initiative in May 2022.
